I took "Buy Nothing Day", aka Black Friday, one step further this year by making a new skirt, all out of thrifted materials. Total cost: approximately $6. Inspired by this Boden skirt. 

Pattern all laid out

This project took a bit long than I expected, mostly due to some darts gone wrong, but it all worked out in the end. I think. 

I do want it to have pockets, I am going to work on that. On the upside, I will count this as my best zipper ever. 

Spoiler Alert: power tools!

Now that it has become clear that I am going to be in the Twin Cities a while, I have been nesting, or my version of nesting. Mostly this has meant making a place for me to easily yoga (and dance) in my apartment. However, it has developed into more - power tools, plants, mediocre carpentry skills. 

I am fueled this afternoon by four cups of coffee and the most delicious cooking mistake I have ever made. Hopefully, before too long I will have something to show off.
