Now that it has become clear that I am going to be in the Twin Cities a while, I have been nesting, or my version of nesting. Mostly this has meant making a place for me to easily yoga (and dance) in my apartment. However, it has developed into more - power tools, plants, mediocre carpentry skills.
I am fueled this afternoon by four cups of coffee and the most delicious cooking mistake I have ever made. Hopefully, before too long I will have something to show off.
What was the cooking mistake??? Do share!

ReplyDeleteI soaked lima beans waaaay to long before cooking them (nearly 30 hours rather than, say, the normal 6-8). When I finally did cook them they got very soft very quickly.
So I added garlic, balsamic vinegar, and a little olive oil and mashed it all together making a lima bean puree. It was delicious! I used it like hummus, re-fried beans, and as a stand alone side. This week I tried to recreate the mistake with fava and lima beans together. Didn't work out quite as well, but still good.
Any bean tips?
